Although Gullfoss is part of the day tour circuit from Reykavik and therefore always busy, it’s still a spectacular sight.

It’s one of the few natural sites in Iceland that has barriers and railings to hold on to which makes it feel a bit tame.

However, you can still get close up to the shallower parts.

And maybe even see a rainbow if it’s a nice day!

  1. I live in Denver and have several friends who’ve just visited your lovely country. Now that we have a direct flight I can’t wait to visit. Your pictures are stunning, but, I can’t wait to see the real thing!
